Dr. Yanping Jiang, core faculty member at the Center for Population Behavioral Health and instructor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, was selected as a scholar for two prestigious research programs.

Jiang was selected as a scholar for the American Psychosomatic Society (APS) Young Investigator Colloquium. She will attend the APS conference in March in San Juan, Puerto Rico and present her research entitled, “Racial residential segregation, neighborhood environment, and all-cause mortality among older Chinese immigrants in the United States.”

“The APS Young Investigator Colloquium is a great opportunity to receive valuable feedback on my grant idea, as well as connect with fantastic mentors and other young investigators,” Jiang says.

The Colloquium aims to contribute to the academic success of each participant by bringing together the expertise of senior mentors paired with postgraduate “rising star” trainees. The mission of APS is to advance and integrate the scientific study of biological, psychological, behavioral, and social factors in health and disease.
